Cutbacks at U.S. Airways

US Airways plane in Hudson River

NEW YORK, NY—In an effort to cut costs, U.S. Airways’ popular Boston-to-New York City flights will no longer land at La Guardia airport. On Thursday’s inaugural flight several cost-conscious passengers did just that, boarding the plane in wetsuits and stuffing four-foot long styrofoam “kick boards” in overhead compartments. They were last seen paddling west from the plane toward lower Manhattan.
