From T-Wolves

Ricky!

Ricky RubioI stopped blogging about the Twolves more than two years ago, and with good reason. Kurt Rambis was still “coaching,” and the disastrous duo from Syracuse—Jonny Flynn and Wes Johnson— were still “playing basketball” at the Target Center. The only thing worse than watching a game played by that team was reading through my limp, whiny recounting of the spectacle.

I don’t intend to repeat my mistake by resurrecting my “Three-pointer from Section 131” nonsense, but I can’t resist posting this video from last night:

Serious injuries to Kevin Love, Chase Budinger, Brandon Roy (this one not really a surprise), Malcolm Lee, Josh Howard along with nagging injuries to Andrei Kirilenko, Nikola Pekovic, and JJ Barea have devastated a promising season for the Twolves. Last night (like much of the year) four of five starters were dressed in suits. Once again, Timberwolves fans are left to fantasize about winning the draft lottery.

But still Ricky Rubio is worth the price of our tickets. Joann and I witnessed his first career triple-double last night (21 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists). And late in the game he pulled off the job-dropping back-to-back behind-the-back drive to the basket seen above.

Now that’s entertainment!
