Randy’s Guide to Birds
Randy’s Guide to the Birds of North America
Introduction to the second edition (2016):
On a recent trip to Costco, I learned that David Allen Sibley has published yet another edition of his best-selling bird guide. He must plan on buying a mid-sized Caribbean island. That or he hopes to wallpaper his 40,000-square-foot vacation home with brand-new Harriet Tubman $20 bills. What a scam he has going.
Why not me? Add a couple of irrelevant tidbits to my 2007 guide, call it a second edition and watch the dosh come in. Before I know it, my wine cellar will be bursting at the seams with cases of recent-vintage Yellow Tail and Three-buck Chuck.
This edition features all new range maps (several Amazon.com reviewers commented on the first edition’s lack of same), adds several variant names, and introduces the grounbreaking Ten tips for beginning birders (it alone is worth the cost of this guide). Of course—you’re in luck!—it offers up the same high-quality, artsy avian portraits as found in the first edition.
Enjoy! Buy several copies for your friends.
