Carry this handy checklist with you wherever you go. You should print a copy first (particularly if you use a desktop computer rather than a laptop). Use it to cover your head if you have forgotten your hat—see abundance code E. (Apologies for the poor-quality reproduction of this tattered, bird-lime-stained checklist. Advanced birders should have no trouble identifying the species of bird responsible for the decoration.)
